FACHPACK: Three Days of Inspiration and Innovation
A real highlight for those working in and involved with the packaging industry is FACHPACK taking place from September 24 to 26. We provide an overview of its special events.
FACHPACK at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg sees itself as a driving force for the packaging industry in Europe. This is reflected not only in the extensive product line-up by exhibitors from all over Europe, but also in the lecture program of the three forums PACKBOX, INNOVATIONBOX and SOLPACK 5.0. All three forums address current and exciting industry topics in a variety of ways, such as the circular economy, automation and the PPWR.
In the PACKBOX, experts from business and science shape the program: they provide in-depth insights into relevant topics and invite you to listen and join in the discussion. The moderators are also real industry experts, so that every hot topic related to packaging can be touched on stage.
In the INNOVATIONBOX, registered exhibitors present their new products and process innovations in short, snappy presentations. The SOLPACK 5.0 forum, implemented in cooperation with packaging design agency Pacoon GmbH is dedicated to sustainable packaging solutions.
Alternative Concepts
FACHPACK aims to inspire visitors with the “Alternative Packaging solutions” pavilion and showcase innovations in sustainable packaging concepts. For example, 13 companies will be showcasing packaging made from agricultural waste and other alternative materials that are compostable. Interested parties can also listen to short presentations every day in this pavilion. Fresh input will also be provided by the start-up companies, which will be presenting themselves in the Newcomer Pavilion and in the Young Innovators pavilion, among other places.
Women's Network
For the first time, a women's network event will take place at FACHPACK. An absolute recommendation for female FACHPACK guests: the Women4Packaging event. It offers industry players a unique opportunity to network on site, inspire each other and discuss current topics and trends in the packaging industry. The whole event takes place in a relaxed setting. Its highlight is the keynote speech by Vera Strauch, founder of the Female Leadership Academy and expert in feminist leadership.
Festive Awards Ceremony
On the first day of the trade fair, an award ceremony that has become a tradition will also take place at FACHPACK. 41 winners of the prestigious German Packaging Award will receive their awards in Nuremberg. Almost 250 entries from 13 countries were submitted in advance. The German Packaging Award is organized by the German Packaging Institute (dvi) and is presented in ten categories at FACHPACK starting at 4.30 pm. As a premium partner, FACHPACK awards the special prize for young talents. This award recognizes the best packaging concepts from school pupils, trainees and students.
Anyone interested in packaging design and packaging aesthetics should pay a visit to the special design show “Outside the Box”. Organized by bayern design on behalf of FACHPACK, the exhibition shows the design process from the initial idea to the finished packaging design and provides valuable insights into the impact of design in development processes. Using extraordinary exhibits, for example an innovative packaging for fitted sheets, design processes are shown that make packaging more recyclable and enable a better experience of the brands behind a product.
FACHPACK TV on Site
FACHPACK TV will also be broadcast live from the exhibition center on all three days of the trade fair. The Packaging Journal presenters will report from the “glass studio” in Hall 4 and present interviews, news and debates on all aspects of packaging. FACHPACK visitors can simply drop by and watch the reporters at work.
