Sustainability icon of NürnbergMesse: Orange leaf with slogan Sustainability is our compass
For more than four decades, FACHPACK has been acknowledged as the No. 1 gathering for the European packaging industry and its customers. Under the banner “Transition in Packaging”, it addresses the current challenges relating to sustainability and sees itself as a trailblazer in the constantly changing packaging industry. It’s where exhibitors and visitors alike find inspiration and solutions for efficient packaging technology, alternative packaging materials, and environmentally compatible packaging solutions.
Our events are global platforms for sustainable innovation.

Topics

Not just legislators, but consumers too are calling for packaging to be more sustainable – at both national and European levels. As the leading European trade fair for packaging, FACHPACK provides answers to questions raised by the consumer and capital goods industry and retail sector about industry-specific and regulatory requirements. It also provides a platform for developing future-driven models for the circular economy, digitalisation and e-commerce.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors will present their sustainable innovations and solutions for the packaging process chain for industrial and consumer goods. The display will include packaging materials, packaging and accessories, bottling and packaging machinery, labelling, marking and identification technology, machines and equipment in the packaging periphery, packaging printing and finishing equipment, palletising technology, intra-logistics and services.

Supporting programme

The PACKBOX Expert Forum and Exhibitor Forum INNOVATIONBOX will provide information and lively discussions about sustainable trends and innovations. The new Alternative Packaging Solutions Pavilion shows the range of packaging materials available apart from conventional wood, glass and metal solutions. At FACHPACK, the prestigious German Packaging Award acknowledges particularly outstanding products in the two categories “Sustainability” and “New Materials”.

Sustainable Event Management

We continuously improve the footprint of our services. To achieve this, we invest in our facilities and collaborate with service partners who share our values regarding the environment and society. Together, we create offerings and design our events to be a responsible experience – from resource-saving stand construction solutions to catering with local food, reusable dishes, and recycling systems. With our charging stations for electric cars, discounted train tickets, and free public transport use, we support sustainable travel.

Sustainabbility goal of NürnbergMesse: CO2 neutral energy supply until 2028

Sustainability at NürnbergMesse

As one of the largest trade fair companies in the world, NürnbergMesse has aligned its actions with social and ecological justice, based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. With a photovoltaic system and the procurement of 100% green electricity, the transition to LED lighting in all our halls and other measures, we are working towards our major goal: CO2-neutral energy supply for our exhibition centre by 2028. We have documented our successes in an annual sustainability report since 2021.
