Cooperation as a Key to Sustainable Packaging Solutions

Mondi's trade fair appearance at FACHPACK is all about innovative and flexible packaging solutions. The supplier of sustainable packaging and paper continuously pursues the approach of developing solutions that are sustainable by design and suitable for different industries. By working closely with the respective customer, Mondi shows the individual path to sustainability for each application and thus helps to find packaging solutions that protect the goods and at the same time fulfil the customer's sustainability goals. 

Mondi will display several innovations made from paper, plastic or a combination of both materials that came from their R&D efforts and close cooperation with customers and partners.

Highlights include the new recyclable FlexiBag Reinforced, a cost-efficient PE-based mono-material packaging with improved mechanical properties. This packaging contains a customised proportion of PCR and is ideal for the animal feed industry. Also on show will be the world's first mono-material vacuum packaging solution for coffee, which was developed in collaboration with Finnish coffee producer Paulig.

Another novelty is the innovative FunctionalBarrier Paper range, which consists of fibre-based packaging that can be used in many FMCG end markets and recycled in existing European paper waste streams. Mondi will also showcase its smooth-finished kraft paper grade, Advantage Smooth Brown Semi Extensible, for end-use applications requiring high functional resistance such as industrial paper bags, pellet bags and mattress packaging.

At this year’s booth, Mondi will also be hosting CELAB Europe, a collaborative initiative dedicated to fostering a sustainable self-adhesive labelling industry. The joint goal is to enhance the circularity of release liners across Europe, building a more sustainable future through innovative recycling solutions and collaborative efforts.
