Automotive
The entire automobile industry, from suppliers to manufacturers, is facing challenges when it comes to packaging. The packaging used needs to be sustainable, but its primary function is to protect products of all sizes and weights.
Achieving a balance between protection, sustainability and efficiency is a challenge that the automotive industry must master when packing spare parts and accessories. In the automobile industry in particular, there is a strong focus on CO2 emissions and sustainability – and that also applies to the packaging used in this segment. The specialised exhibitors at FACHPACK will show what these sustainable solutions can look like.
Reusable packaging is becoming increasingly important, but disposable solutions are also becoming more efficient. The aim is always to protect sensitive components during transport. These expensive automotive parts are often produced in various parts of the world and need to be transported over considerable distances. Packaging needs to protect parts against impact, corrosion and light sensitivity but must also be tamper-proof. Process-optimized retrieval options in mass production are also important. In the case of items like bumpers requiring special transport procedures, sturdy special load carriers are necessary. These aspects too will be part of the presentation at FACHPACK.
The automotive industry must meet the requirements of the Packaging Act to reduce packaging waste. This applies to both recyclable disposable packaging and reusable packaging made from plastic, corrugated board or other materials.
