FACHPACK in Nuremberg, September 24 to 26, 2024, is just around the corner again and is an unmissable highlight in the packaging industry for the members of the south-west German packaging cluster Packaging Valley. With a joint stand in Hall 3C, the presentation area of Packaging Valley covers around 1,400 square meters and offers space for the presentation of innovative technologies and solutions.

FACHPACK is an Indispensable Trade Fair

At the joint stand, 26 member companies will give visitors a comprehensive insight into the diversity of the packaging process chain for industrial and consumer goods. Visitors will have the opportunity to get to know the wide range of technologies for the pharmaceutical, food and non-food industries that are being developed in Packaging Valley. In addition, 15 other companies from Packaging Valley will be represented at FACHPACK with their own exhibition space.

The common goal: to provide orientation in the current challenges facing the industry and to showcase innovative solutions for the future. "FACHPACK is regarded as one of the most important trade fairs in the packaging industry and acts as a signpost for the packaging industry and its users in Europe," explains Packaging Valley Managing Director Martin Buchwitz.

The main theme of FACHPACK 2024, "Transition in Packaging", reflects the current changes in the industry. The trade fair focuses on key topics such as sustainability, resource efficiency, digitalization and e-commerce, which influence the packaging industry along the entire value chain. This is an ideal fit for Packaging Valley (PV).

PV, the cluster for packaging machine construction and automation in the southwest, has around 100 member companies, including service providers in the packaging industry and public institutions. The member companies of Packaging Valley are located throughout Germany, although the majority are based in the region between Stuttgart and Crailsheim. With an export share of over 80 percent, the technological diversity of Packaging Valley is represented worldwide.

A few days ago, Packaging Valley welcomed a new member: FACHPACK has joined the network, which is formally a registered association. “We are delighted to be part of the strong PV community with FACHPACK", said Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse GmbH.

The network, which is formally a registered association, now has two offices, one in Schwäbisch Hall, managed by Buchwitz, and one in Waiblingen, managed by Dr. Marc Funk. Sabine Gauger-Wahl (Optima Packaging Group GmbH) is the chairwoman of the Packaging Valley association, her deputy is Markus Höfliger, chairman of the supervisory board of Harro Höfliger Verpackungsmaschinen GmbH. "I am involved in the FACHPACK Advisory Board because I am happy to help develop the trade fair further, for example in the area of digitalization and the new requirements that arise as a result," says Sabine Gauger-Wahl.

A key feature of the association is its structure, which is characterized by two main bodies: the board and the general meeting. At the end of June, the association's board met with the management for a strategy meeting "to set the course for the association to continue to act for the benefit of its members" and to contribute to making the packaging industry even more visible with projects, trade fair appearances such as at FACHPACK 2024 and event formats. "Our many global market leaders and hidden champions are not only innovation leaders and leaders in digitalization and sustainability, they are also attractive employers with interesting career opportunities for skilled workers," it says.
