Aluminium & PET lids

Lids have a dual role in the food industry: they seal products and are important advertising media. We offer a variety of shapes and colours that can be personalised according to our customers wishes.

We produce aluminium lids in different thicknesses: 30, 35 or 38 μm, which are used in the food industry to seal plastic cups, trays and containers (PP, PS, PET) and protect their contents.

We offer 4 different types of embossing for aluminium lids:

• Vermicular embossing and classic embossing: the material is more diffuse, more stable and has a matt appearance;
• Bidirectional embossing with dots: offers a clearer print image than vermicular embossing;
• Unidirectional embossing with dots: makes colours appear clear and vivid;
• Rim emboss: offers a high-quality and clean print image as the embossing is only on the edge where the lid is sealed.

We also offer the option of logo embossing: with the help of this technique, you can emphasise certain areas on your board with the resulting relief. The thicker the material, the more spectacular the effect. You can combine logo embossing with rim embossing to achieve a particularly attractive result.

You can choose the right shape for your product from a wide range of sinker shapes. These can be round or rectangular.

Rottaprint also produces PET lids for sealing PP and PS (polypropylene/polystyrene) containers, which are most commonly used in the food industry, to efficiently protect their contents.

We recommend PET lids for many reasons, such as: their excellent tear resistance, uniform release from the container, the possibility of disposal and recycling together with the container, but also because of the possibility of bi-directional embossing. As a customised plastic product, they enable you to use metal detectors as an additional safety aspect in your production.

Depending on the contents of your packaged product, PET lids allow your consumers to heat the product in a microwave oven.

Even if your product is acidic (e.g. vinegar, ketchup, dressing, etc.), PET lids are ideal as they do not change in an acidic environment.

PET lids allow thermal sealing - both on PP and PS containers. The temperature required for this is lower than for aluminium lids, which reduces your energy requirements.

We can also offer you a variety of shapes for PET lids, from which you can choose the right one for your product. These can be either rectangular or round.
